Fundraising Stories
Can you give a few hours this month to make a difference?
What can you do to make a difference? How about organizing a fundraiser? You can do this as an individual, family, home group, classroom, church; even your neighborhood and friends can all be a part of the event.
CB is here because of individuals and groups of all ages that put their creative and fun ideas into raising funds. Organizing a fundraiser is a fun way to share CB with others. You are also able to connect with friends, families, congregations and people in the community.
Let God work a miracle through you for Casa Bernabe!
Here are just a few folks like you that had fun while sharing their love and skills to make a difference. You can too!
This past spring,
Crossroads Community Church Youth Group worked hard to raise funds for the children at CB. Using their creativity and skills, they were able to raise $12k to donate toward food in June. They sold golf balls, had car washes, parties, etc. Way to go guys!
The
Boise Vineyard Church had a Garage Sale to help CB. The 2-day sale was a lot of work but along with work came fellowship and an opportunity to share about CB. They are not done yet! They plan to do have one more in August.
Katie Ledbetter shared that the kids at St Lukes Lutheran Church in NC raised $200 at their VBS this summer. What a terrific way to spread the word and empower children to help others.
Sydney Wood turned five this July. Instead of asking for presents for her birthday, she asked her birthday guests to donate toward her friends at CB. She wanted to make sure the kids in Casa David have a birthday also!
Pastor Craig Bollinger at Christ the King Church in --- organized a golf tournament with profits going to CB. This was a great idea to incorporate fun, fellowship and fundraising.
While we are talking about fellowship,
Jamie and
Stephanie Lee helped host Tastefully Simple and BeautiControl parties with the women in her church. All profits went to CB and the Ladies had a relaxing time sharing food, friendships and a common goal to help the kids at CB.
Pastor Nate Brunk, and the Downing Hills Christian Fellowship organized dinner parties in the congregation. These parties allowed folks to catch up, care for each other and share the latest about CB. What a great way to get more people involved!
Jim Donaldson makes a difference by contacting service clubs and churches and asking them if they need a speaker. Service clubs are quicker to say, "Yes". I attend their meetings and luncheons as a speaker. I show them the Casa Bernabe DVD (and I bring along brochures, both things you can get from the FOCE.org website) and tell them the story of Casa Bernabe and their needs. They usually will donate to CB once they hear the story. Jim's idea is easy and you can do the same thing at any club, church, school or home group. Spreading the word about CB can be as easy as just a few hours a month!
St. Lukes had a yard sale for Casa Bernabe and raised almost a $1000. The items in the sale were generously donated from the congregaion. They had customers as early as 6:30AM. It was a great turnout!
