Statistics and studies show that institutionalized living is not the best situation for children.  In 2016, 50% of the children in cases presented in family court were sent to institutions. Currently, that number has dropped to 7%.  Guatemalan government officials are changing the way they solve these cases. In Guatemala the courts are changing their way of ruling.  Children are put into family situations whenever possible.  Since we do house children, the court system is evaluating each child's case and finding family solutions for them.  Our Families United Team works together with the courts to make this a successful transition process.  We love our children and we want the best situation for them.
