Over the past few weeks, we’ve been deeply blessed by three incredible groups who poured out their time, energy, and love on campus—and we know you’ll be encouraged by the impact they’ve made.
Mountain View Fellowship from Colorado got their hands dirty with several big projects. They painted the inside of Casa Promesa, improved a drainage canal, and helped build a new road by the school that leads to the girls’ houses. Their heart for our house parents also shone brightly—they treated them to dinner at a restaurant where Mark and Carrie Keimig (one of our FOCE Board couples) shared a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness.
They visited some families in the local community and prayed with them in their homes. Before heading home, the team hosted a fun pizza night for the kids and helped cover the houses so our amazing house parents could enjoy some well-deserved time away.
Crossroads Community Church from Indiana jumped right into the ongoing work at Casa Promesa, continuing the painting efforts. They helped pave the road, mixing and pouring concrete and laying blocks. They also brought an incredible gift to the homes–new mattresses, pillows, and sheets for every child. What a joy to see our kids receive a fresh, comfortable place to rest!
They didn’t stop there, extending the blessing to our local community by distributing mattresses to families in need outside of Casa Bernabé. Their time here wrapped up with a delicious churrasco lunch for all the kids and staff.
ORC for Orphans from Florida served both on and off campus, helping renovate a roof for a local family whose children attend our school. They also finished painting Casa Promesa (it looks amazing!) and brought some extra joy by assisting with P.E. classes, teaching pickleball to our elementary and middle school students.
The team also planned special outings and activities for our kids—McDonald’s nights for the boys and girls, a tea party with special treats baked by our kids in the Vocational Program, games, and even s’mores. The kids had so much fun!
